At a press meet in Mumbai for his upcoming film The Paradise, actor Nani expressed admiration for Shah Rukh Khan's 1993 thriller Baazigar, citing it as an example of commercial cinema that successfully balanced emotional depth with mainstream entertainment. Nani contrasted the emotional intensity of classic films like Baazigar with what he perceives as a lack of genuine feeling in many contemporary commercial films, noting that modern movies often rely on forced songs and action sequences at the expense of meaningful storytelling.

Nani stated that The Paradise aims to recapture that emotional weight, promising audiences an immersive three-hour experience that explores pain, love, and human connection authentically. The film, directed by Srikanth Odela and co-starring Raghav Juyal, Kayadu Lohar, Sonali Kulkarni and Mohan Babu, is scheduled for theatrical release on 24 September 2026.

During the media interaction, Nani delivered a lighthearted joke when asked what he and Shah Rukh Khan have in common, quipping that they share the same measurements. He elaborated by recalling that during a photoshoot for his 2014 Yash Raj Films debut Aaha Kalyanam, he was told he had identical measurements to Khan, adding humorously that while the measurements matched, the payment certainly did not.
