Actor Anil Kapoor appeared on Star Plus' reality show India Ke Top 1%, where he recalled personal memories of his long friendship with Shah Rukh Khan. During an episode, a contestant's wish to buy a sea-facing home in Mumbai similar to Mannat prompted Anil to share anecdotes about Shah Rukh's dream of owning such a property and how he witnessed his friend fulfil that ambition.

Anil recounted their first meeting, which occurred during the shoot of Benaam Badshah. He described the impression Shah Rukh made on him at that time, saying he sensed the actor would become a major star, and this encounter marked the beginning of their close friendship that deepened over the years.

Regarding Mannat, Anil shared that Shah Rukh had once lived in a flat on Carter Road where they would meet regularly. He explained that Shah Rukh had long dreamed of acquiring a grand, sea-facing bungalow, a dream he eventually realised by purchasing Mannat, which Anil witnessed firsthand.

Anil also disclosed a personal connection to the property: he had filmed portions of the movie Tezaab at the bungalow before it became Shah Rukh Khan's iconic residence. The show airs Saturday and Sunday at 8 PM on Star Plus and is available on JioHotstar.
