Television actor Hina Khan recently shared the story of her first encounter with Shah Rukh Khan during an appearance on a podcast hosted by Rocky Jaiswal, Rubina Dilaik, and Abhinav Shukla. At the time of the meeting, Khan was relatively new to the entertainment industry, approximately a year and a half into her run on the television series Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. She found herself seated next to the Bollywood star on a flight and nervously approached him for a photograph.

According to Khan's account, Shah Rukh Khan was initially asleep when she noticed him. When he briefly woke up for coffee, she gathered courage and asked if she could take a picture with him. He agreed but returned to sleep after his beverage. Khan waited patiently, unsure if the opportunity would materialise. Upon landing, Shah Rukh woke up, called her over, and fulfilled his promise by taking the photograph with her. She noted that he had been promoting a film at the time and had not slept for several days.

The podcast also featured Abhinav Shukla sharing his own first meeting with Shah Rukh Khan, which occurred during a fashion ramp show for a watch brand when Shukla was beginning his modelling career in Mumbai. Separately, Shah Rukh Khan is preparing for his upcoming film King, directed by Siddharth Anand, which will mark his on-screen debut alongside his daughter Suhana Khan and is set for 2026 release.
