Kareena Kapoor Khan has reportedly joined the cast of Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming film King for a special appearance featuring a peppy dance number. The song, titled 'Daddy Cool', will be composed by the musician duo Sachin-Jigar. According to sources speaking to Pinkvilla, the track is being mounted as a major highlight of the film and will reunite the two actors in a way audiences have not witnessed before. The makers are reportedly considering bringing both international and Indian artists to contribute vocals to the extensive track, drawing inspiration from previous Shah Rukh Khan and Kareena collaborations such as 'Chammak Challo' and 'Criminal' from Ra.One. No official confirmation has been made as of now.
This marks a significant reunion for the two actors, who last appeared together 15 years ago. Kareena and Shah Rukh have previously shared screen space in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Asoka, and Ra.One, and have made special appearances together in Don and Billu.
King is an upcoming mega-budget action thriller directed by Siddharth Anand, reuniting him with Shah Rukh Khan following their 2023 blockbuster Pathaan. The film centres on an elite assassin who mentors a young protégé, with an underworld dynamic loosely inspired by Luc Besson's Léon: The Professional. The cast includes Suhana Khan in her major theatrical debut alongside her father, Abhishek Bachchan as the antagonist, and supporting performances by Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Rani Mukerji, and Jaideep Ahlawat.
The film is produced by Red Chillies Entertainment (founded by Gauri Khan) and Marflix Pictures (helmed by director Siddharth Anand and Mamta Anand). Background score is by Anirudh Ravichander. King is scheduled for worldwide release on 24 December 2026 during the Christmas weekend.
