Shah Rukh Khan released a new poster for his upcoming action thriller King, directed by Sidharth Anand, marking the filmmaker's second collaboration with Khan after Pathaan. The film will mark the on-screen debut of Khan's daughter Suhana Khan, with the pair sharing screen time for the first time. The supporting cast includes Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Rani Mukerji, Jaideep Ahlawat, Jackie Shroff, Raghav Juyal, and Abhay Verma. King represents Khan's return to cinema after a three-year gap, and is scheduled for release on December 24.

Khan captioned the poster with the line "Aaj phir yaad aaya... Qaatil nahi... Aashiq hoon..." However, the poster sparked significant online criticism from fans, who drew comparisons to the poster design of Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar 2 and the Hong Kong film Raging Fire 2. Social media users accused the poster of lacking originality, with comments such as "Kuch to OG kar liye karo" (do something original) and claims that "the aesthetic, the fire and the frame" were borrowed from Dhurandhar 2. One user labeled the poster "cheap AI-generated slop." Some fans extended the criticism beyond visuals, alleging the film's script was copied from Leon: The Professional and that the poster design concept was lifted from Dhurandhar 2.

Reports indicate the King trailer is expected to release on Shah Rukh Khan's birthday, November 2.
