Director Farah Khan has fuelled fresh speculation about a Main Hoon Na sequel by responding cryptically to actor Arjun Kapoor's public call for the film. Kapoor, while watching the original 2004 film starring Shah Rukh Khan and Sushmita Sen at a hotel, posted on Instagram urging an immediate sequel and tagging Khan. Khan responded by reposting his story with a line referencing Shah Rukh Khan's famous dialogue from another film she directed, Om Shanti Om, in what many interpreted as a suggestive hint rather than an outright confirmation.

Earlier reports claimed a Main Hoon Na 2 script was in development, featuring Shah Rukh Khan potentially in a double role and depicting a contemporary national threat scenario. However, Khan had previously dismissed those reports as false. More recently, during a media appearance, Khan confirmed she would return to directing after her children finish college, hinting at a possible project launch by year-end, though she did not explicitly confirm it would be the Main Hoon Na sequel.

The original Main Hoon Na, released in 2004, became a major commercial success and remains popular among audiences for its blend of action, romance, comedy and emotion. The renewed speculation demonstrates the enduring fan affection for the film and continued curiosity about whether a follow-up will materialise.
