Veteran Pakistani actor Firdous Jamal has reconsidered his earlier views on Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, acknowledging the actor's dedication to improving his craft and addressing speech challenges from his early career.

Firdous noted that Shah Rukh Khan struggled with stammering during his initial years in the film industry but worked through intensive training and practice to overcome this difficulty. He explained that actors dealing with stammering often become overly self-conscious about their speech, which can negatively impact their natural performance and their ability to fully inhabit their characters.

While Firdous described Shah Rukh Khan as a stylised hero and accomplished actor, he maintained that the star's early performances contained noticeable shortcomings in dialogue delivery. According to Firdous, Shah Rukh Khan initially spoke too rapidly, frequently missing the pauses, timing, and punctuation essential to effective dialogue work.

Firdous's remarks illustrate how acting skill evolves through sustained practice and personal development over the course of an actor's career. The comment comes after Firdous faced industry consequences in 2019 for critical statements about fellow actor Mahira Khan's performance abilities, leading producer Momina Duraid to announce that MD Productions would cease working with him.
