Shah Rukh Khan has confirmed that his upcoming film King will release on December 24, 2026, dismissing speculation about a potential date shift due to competing major Hollywood releases Avengers: Doomsday and Dune 3 arriving on December 18. During an Ask Me Anything session, he shared a snippet featuring the film's memorable punchline "King akela kaafi hai" and compared King's position between two major releases to being the filling of a sandwich, emphasizing its value as the centerpiece.

The actor discussed the production challenges, revealing he sustained several injuries during shooting that caused delays, though he confirmed the project is now nearly complete. King reunites him with co-stars Deepika Padukone and Rani Mukerji, and marks his daughter Suhana Khan's theatrical debut. Directed by Siddharth Anand, who previously collaborated with him on Pathaan, the film features an extensive supporting cast including Abhishek Bachchan, Arshad Warsi, Jackie Shroff, and Anil Kapoor.
