T-Series has acquired exclusive worldwide commercial music rights for the upcoming Shah Rukh Khan film King for a period of 50 years. The deal was facilitated through Red Chillies Entertainment and Zee Music Company. Under the agreement, T-Series holds exclusive exploitation rights to all musical assets including songs, music videos, and publishing interests for five decades.
A T-Series spokesperson confirmed the long-term nature of the arrangement, stating there is no short-term licensing structure involved and that the label maintains absolute commercial monopoly over audio and music video rights for King.
The film's soundtrack features compositions by Sachin-Jigar, with background music by Anirudh Ravichander. The project includes a musical collaboration between Ed Sheeran and Arijit Singh. Directed by Siddharth Anand, King stars Shah Rukh Khan alongside Deepika Padukone, Suhana Khan, and Abhishek Bachchan. This marks the first time Shah Rukh and his daughter Suhana will appear together on screen as a father-daughter pair.
The film is scheduled for a Christmas theatrical release. The 50-year music rights agreement positions T-Series to monetise the soundtrack across multiple platforms and formats well beyond the film's initial theatrical run.
